Team Israel: Football Edition

With Team Israel Baseball qualifying for the World Baseball Classic we decided to look at the other 3 major sports and make our own Team Israel. Today we begin with Football.

Quarterbacks
Mike Bercovici (Starter) - Just missed out on a spot with the Chargers this year. His athleticism allows him to be our starter.
Josh Rosen - A shining star but not polished enough to win the starting job.
Sage Rosenfels (Team Captain) - Retired but would be a good mentor to the young slingers on the team. I bet he could still go if a team came calling.

Running Backs
Mark Weisman - Standout at Iowa just a few years ago but was cut by the Bengals in camp.
Erik Lorig - Former NFLer who could play both sides of the ball. Also could line up at TE.
Zach Boren - Former RB at Ohio State rounds out running backs.
Johnny Martisius - Israel League's all-time leader in yards and TDs.

Wide Receivers
Julian Edelman (Team Captain) - No doubt he would see the bulk of our offense. Yalla.
Daniel Braverman - Currently on the Bears practice squad.
Gabe Marks - Senior at Washington State who has had trouble staying healthy.
Greg Camarillo - Former NFL would lace them up one more time for Israel.

Tight End
Jake Levin - Colorado State Graduate in '13. Played TE but will be helped by Lorig.

Offensive Line
Mitchell Schwartz - NFL Pro-bowler leads our most elite group.
Ali Marpet - Bucs starting lineman
Geoff Schwartz - Might be out of the NFL but he'd be ready for the call.
Jake Bernstein - Just got cut in camp but young and versatile.
Brian De La Puente - Starting center and only out of football a short while.
Gabe Carimi - Carimi is a passionate Jew and see the former NFLer representing us well.
Brandon Kublanow - Georgia Senior
Adam Bisnowaty - Former Pitt OL

Punter
Adam Podlesh - We assume Podlesh could still punt further than most Jews.

Kicker
Morgan Ellman - Jewish Sports Review 2015 Kicker of the Year. Currently kicking for New Hampshire.

Defensive Line
Antonio Garay (Team Captain) - Former NFLer would be the spark for the Defense.
Henry Schlossberg -  6'4 280lbs at Princeton.
Igor Olshansky - Former NFLer would help fill in a modest D-Line.
Drew Ferris - Team NFL invites at Long Snapper but played D-Line in College.
Yoni Cooper - Israel League's all time leader in sacks, tackles for a loss, and forced fumbles.

Linebackers
Alex Hoffman-Ellis - Invited to NFL camps but wound up in the CFL.
Todd Golper - Former UCLA LB.
Sean Goldstein - Former Miami LB.
Asaf Katz - Israel League's all-time leader in tackles and 3rd in sacks.
