Mr. Repeat MVP, Ryan Braun?

Ryan Braun is putting together another MVP season, leading the NL in Home Runs and RBIs. He is also in the top 5 for BA although unlikely to catch Melky Cabrera or Andrew McCutchens.

Braun seems like the natural MVP with his team playing strong down the stretch. However his offseason speculated struggles might scare voters as it has for the Hall of Fame.

Regardless, TGR is backing (not that it matters) Braun as MVP. But the triple crown will have to wait another year (unless you are Miguel Cabrera).

Israel OUT of WBC

In a tough 9-7 extra inning loss, Israel was bounced from the WBC. The game was back and forth seeing Israel tied 7-7 with Spain in the 9th. With one out and a runner on second, Israel failed to get the go ahead/game winning run home.

Israel went 2-1 beating South Africa and Spain, but eventually losing to Spain in the finals. Heartbreaking for a team that showed so much promise to Spain was better for 1 inning and it cost them a chance to go any further.

We here at TGR are extremely proud of the Israel team and hope to see many of these guys back and in the majors. Special shout outs to coach Brad Ausmus and Gabe Kapler and Shawn Green who truly showed their colors.

Much Nachas for a great group. And who else is excited for Nate Freiman to get the call up to the bigs very soon!

And Let Us Say...Amen.

Brad Greenberg to Speak at Temple of Aaron

Minnesota Jewish communities are proud to announce that Maccabi Haifa will be in town October 16th to play the Minnesota Timberwolves in an preseason exhibition.

I am happy to announce that Temple of Aaron (where I serve proudly as the Assistant Rabbi) will have Head Coach (former 76er GM and Radford Head Coach) Brad Greenberg giving the sermon on the Shabbat of October 13th. Hope to see Minnesota Jews from all over at shul!

The Rematch: Israel vs. Spain

Israel will face Spain tomorrow in Jupiter Florida. The game will take place at 5PM EST, winner advancing to the World Baseball Classic (which stinks since Israel already beat Spain). You can follow the game at http://web.worldbaseballclassic.com/index.jsp.

Huge day in Israeli sports!

Let's Go Go-Go White Sox

Yes they are my favorite team, in any sport, period. Yes, I was in love with the move to get Kevin Youkilis. But changing a game for Yom Kippur is a moment in Jewish Sports History I will talk about forever. Let's Go Go-Go White Sox! Proud of you Jerry.

Heyman Backs CM Punk

I have note posted wrestling news in a while so here it goes. When Paul Heyman came back this year to the WWE I was underwhelmed by the crowd's reaction. I had chills loving how Heyman tells it like it is in a made for TV way. I feel he is always being honest and acting at the same time. But pairing him with Brock Lesner was anti-climatic for me. Heyman presents everything awesome about wrestling. Surprise endings, great story lines, and backing real talent.

WWE wanted to turn CM Punk heel over the last month and a half and have failed miserably. He receives cheers everywhere he goes. So Punk is in Chicago, his hometown which he celebrates and that loves him (only negative is that he is a Cubs fan). Again with no one booing the "bad guy" WWE finally got it right and has Punk enter a car with Heyman.

The pairing of these two makes wrestling awesome. Its fresh and intriguing. I cannot wait to see these two work together. Heyman made so many stars and Punk already has headlining status, so I can only imagine what these two are planning.Thank you WWE for this treat. Now if Punk can only get Colt Cabana along side him. Cabana and Heyman...love it.
